Florida Fall Style Guide

Oct. 7, 2020

Florida Fall Style Guide

We blinked and the summer melted away. Can you believe it’s already Fall? The arrival of the Fall Equinox means it’s also time to refresh that wardrobe with some trending looks and some much-needed new pieces.

While we live in Florida and it might not necessarily feel like Fall – the 3rd quarter of the year still calls for some new looks. For your Fall style forecast, we’re predicting some classic Fall colors and prints as well as some new, on-trend hues. You’ll want to scoot those sandals over and make room for some seasonal footwear; PLUS, some super-hot fall trends to add to your beauty routine.

Fall Fashion Colors

If the leaves are changing around the country, you can bet the colors in fashion will follow suit. Every year, warm hues and rustic colors make a comeback. The same shades of burnt orange, cayenne reds, and mustard yellows appear on the clothes racks in stores and online. It’s a wonderful example of fashion taking inspiration from nature. We also start seeing darker tones and richer hues, like merlots and burgundies, navy blues and black.

Fun, smaller prints also get their time to shine each Autumn! Everything from chevron prints to classic plaid to camo and of course, the annual micro floral prints.

In addition to these annual fall tones, this year in particular, we’ve seen muted tones and nude colors take center stage, from runways to the prêt-à-porter pieces we see in stores. We won’t go as far as saying nude is the new black, but it is definitely in the same ballpark when exuding understated elegance. Fall dresses, tops, skirts and bottoms run the gamut of browns and clay tones, from beiges and taupes to paprika and brick.

Last but not least, another very on-trend color family this season is green. We’ve seen a very muted sage or thyme color appear alongside the nudes palette. And as we approach deep Fall, we’ll start seeing the greens go darker, from olive to hunter green to a deep emerald.  You’ll be able to find on-trend Fall fashion here at our shopping mall in Daytona Beach at stores like Ross Dress for LessBurlington, & TJ Maxx.

Break out the Boots

What’s your boot style? Whether it’s utility-first, small leather boots with a subtle heel, a bold, attitude chunky combat boot, or a super glam, thigh-high boot, this is the season to break out the boots! Get to stepping in the season’s hottest shoe style with fall boots from DSW or Burlington at Tomoka Town Center. Blacks, browns, burgundies, beiges and taupes look great on all boot styles. The occasional pop of color is always fun, too, for a statement look!

Autumnal Shades and Seasonal Beauty Looks

As we head into Fall, the summery glow we’ve been seeing in the beauty world continues, with a turn towards slightly deeper tones and unexpected pops of color. The ultra-natural look has been given beauty a barely-there approach to makeup. The focus has been creating an overall healthy glow, using products that not only make you look good but also help nourish and moisturize your skin at the same time. Subtle additions like tinted moisturizers, shimmery shades, bronzers and sheer glosses have pushed beauty into a realm that highlights the natural human beauty that’s already there.

Ask any MUA with a cult following on Youtube right now – Golds, rusts, bronzes, and rose gold eyeshadow shades and cheekbone highlighters are the IT thing. Give your moisturized, fresh-faced look a pop of color with an electric blue shimmery shadow or an emerald green lid. For evening looks, a berry or a deep wine lip shade contrasts a subtle eye look beautifully. In contrast, a witchy, smoky eye and a neutral lip is equally as enchanting. At stores like Sally Beauty and Ulta Beauty you’ll find some of the top brands in skincare and stock up on all the latest fall shades.
